Post-Mortem Viability DNA Test

When Answers Are Needed, Even After Loss

In sensitive situations involving a deceased individual, DNA testing may still be possible. Our Post-Mortem Viability Test determines whether a stored or collected sample from a deceased person contains viable DNA—the first step before moving forward with any relationship or identity testing.

This service is often used in paternity cases, estate matters, or personal closure, when a loved one has passed but DNA results are still needed.

🧪 What Is It?

A lab analysis to determine if a DNA sample from a deceased individual is:

  • Present
  • Intact
  • Sufficient for accurate testing

If the sample is viable, we can proceed with further testing such as paternity, siblingship, or reconstruction analysis.

💬 Common Sample Sources:

  • Stored blood or tissue
  • Dental or medical specimens
  • Clothing with bodily fluids (when available)

Note: Not all samples will yield viable DNA. This test confirms whether or not testing is possible.
